Ken Plaquin

Coach

Ken is a coach who believes he has a tremendous opportunity to help those he coaches to learn to work hard, have fun and understand what it takes to be a good person. Ken works in the FSD Sports Academy, Springbank Sports Academy and in STIX Hockey during the spring. He has the ability to impact young student athletes on all levels because of his friendly nature and extensive experience.

Ken's hometown is Calgary, Alberta where he started playing hockey and soccer at the age of 4. Throughout Minor Hockey Ken was part of the Calgary Royals Association before moving to Humboldt, Saskatchewan to play in the SJHL. Ken then went on to play in the NCAA for Michigan Tech, was drafted to the NHL by the Pittsburgh Penguins and played professional hockey in the United States and Italy. In his spare time Ken loves to cook for the most important thing in his life, his family.

Ken currently lives in Calgary with his wife of 23 years Jenny and their son Sam (22) and two daughters Harlee (18) and Cameron (13).
