These sessions include individual skill development, competitive small area games and outside the box training that will prepare them for the Junior hockey experience. There are also intersquad weekend games that are scouted by teams from many Canadian Junior Leagues.
This program culminates in our STIX Collegiate Exposure Tournament, which has become one of the most highly attended exposure tournaments in the country for NCAA, U Sports and Junior teams. Included in this program is family advisory services throughout the year to both the parents and the athlete. We prioritize educational opportunities for the family unit, which is achieved through our STIX Collegiate Exposure Tournament, and through numerous seminars and presentations through the spring months on topics such as: how to advocate for yourself, tips & tools on being a rookie at the next level, the impact of mental health & mental focus on performance, and tryout success recommendations.

Becoming a Player/MiniSTIX
You’re not just joining a team,
you’re joining a family.
STIX is a team both on and off the ice. We encourage our members to strive to reach their potential in academics and athletics, while also helping to nurture lasting bonds and relationships that last into adulthood. STIX Hockey is a skills-based hockey program focused on developing character, work ethic and on-ice skills.
As coaches, we take pride in being teachers of the game. We use the positive relationships we build with our athletes to motivate them to achieve greatness both on and off of the ice. We inspire personal excellence through a shared love of hockey.
What does year-round Family Support mean?
Our STIX programs go above and beyond to provide year-round comprehensive family support for our athletes. We understand that nurturing a youth athlete's talent requires a strong support system, and that's why we offer a range of services to ensure that families are well-equipped to guide their athlete's sporting journey.
All of our STIX Programs include regular support via phone calls, texts and emails, during which our staff provides guidance, answers questions, and offers advice to parents and athletes. We offer routes and choices advisory to help parents and athletes make informed decisions regarding competitive opportunities.
We also commit to game observations throughout the regular hockey season that provides us with an opportunity to witness athlete's progress and skills firsthand and provide a deeper connection to their development.
Education for parents is a crucial component, empowering families with the knowledge they need to be active and informed in their child's athletic pursuit. Together, we create a supportive and nurturing environment that helps youth athletes reach their full potential.
On the ice, we are a program that…
Pairs situational skills, position-specific work and outside-the box-skills to help get the most out of your player. We believe in helping athletes learn through competition and pressure and use small area games to accomplish this. We address and continue to work on the fundamentals such as edgework and power-skating but we create environments that are action-packed, engaging and fun.
