Darcy Hulston
Darcy Hulston brings more than 25 years of financial industry experience to his role as President & CEO of Canoe Financial, currently one of Canada’s fastest growing independent mutual fund companies. Darcy has hired, managed and mentored over 500 industry professionals, conducted more than 1,000 public presentations, and has consistently built outstanding teams. A recognized industry expert, he has appeared on BNN and CBC and is frequently sought out for career and business advice.
Darcy was a key architect of Canoe’s business plan and strategy, and leverages his expertise in organizational behavior and executive leadership in directing its execution.
Darcy was first registered to sell securities in October of 1987. Since then, he has been a Registered Representative, a Branch Manager, a Wholesaler and a Head of Sales. Darcy studied organizational behaviour at the University of Alberta and received a BBA from Athabasca University with a major in Organizational Behaviour. He is a graduate of the SIFMA program at the Wharton School in Philadelphia, a graduate level program focusing on executive leadership.
Born on a mixed farm outside of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Darcy fully appreciates the values of hard work, integrity and community involvement. He currently sits on the board of the Canadian Cancer Society and has been involved in Canadian Minor Hockey as a division coordinator, disciplinary liaise and served on several hockey boards. Darcy resides in Calgary with his wife and three children.
