Willie Desjardins
Willie is a visionary coach whom has left his footprints in the game around the globe. Willie is the leader of the Willie Desjardins South Alberta Hockey Academy in partnership with the Prairie Rose School Division and Powered by Global Sport Academy Group. His approach, values and love of the the game and the people within it; truly set him apart. A few of his stops include:
- Head Coach of Canada’s Olympic team in the 2018 Olympics - Bronze Medal
- Head Coach of the Vancouver Canucks - National Hockey League
- Head Coach of the Texas Stars - American Hockey League - Calder Cup Champion
- Head Coach and GM of the Medicine Hat Tigers - WHL - 2 Time WHL Champion
- Head and Assistant Coach of Team Canada - World Junior Championships - Gold and Silver Medal
- Head Coach of the University of Calgary Dinos
Willie is also involved in many projects and programs within youth sport. He is a key leader within TheDrillBook and is also an active presenter around the world at coaching conferences and symposiums.
Willie resides in Medicine Hat with his wife Rhonda. Wille and Rhonda have three children: Brayden, Sheehan and Jace.
