Global Sport Academy launches High-Performance Hockey Programs in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Programs for student-athletes in Grades 5 - 12 will be operating in Moose Jaw in September 2022 bringing high-performance programming into the regular school day.

Global Sport Academy has been operating in Prince Albert since 2020, and across Alberta since 2015. Global Sport Academy integrates high-performance programming with access to superior coaching and resources during the regular school day to support athletes in and out of sport. Global Sport Academy and Village Sports has worked with 1,000+ student-athletes with over 88% of male athletes going on to play Junior or Collegiate hockey, and 100% of female athletes have gone on to attend University for hockey, golf, or academics.
Global Sport Academy programs are designed for student-athletes to pursue their passion for sport in an empowering program that is supported by academics and athletics leadership. Working in collaboration with school divisions, Global Sport Academy creates customized programs that fulfill the student-athletes’ specific academy requirements. We develop physical, mental, and social growth using guided discovery and fail forward methods.
Working in collaboration with Moose Jaw Minor Hockey, Global Sport Academy will be bringing two new programs to the Moose Jaw region for the 2022/2023 school year. Integrated with the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division, student-athletes in Grades 9 - 12 who attend Vanier Collegiate Institute will have the opportunity to enroll in our most comprehensive program with cutting edge content and delivery. The Global Sport Academy program includes skill development, ice times, multi-sport training, dryland sessions, leadership and character education and academic support sessions. Student-athletes in Grades 5 - 8 in any school division will have the opportunity to participate in the Moose Jaw Morning Academy. This hockey-focused multisport program will provide athletes with position specific development (including goaltending) with theme weeks and work-to-rest rations of 1:3. Sessions are held in the morning hours from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and will be located at Kinsmen Arenas and Golden Ticket Sports Centre.
Leading the Village Sports and Global Sport Academy programs in Moose Jaw is Area-Manager and Coach, Curtis Pereverzoff. Growing up playing hockey, Curtis played two years of Junior hockey for the Castlegar Rebels in the KIJHL and began his coaching journey with the U13 Nelson Leafs. While he pursued his Bachelor of Education in Victoria, BC, Curtis continued coaching, both as assistant and head coach in the Saanich Minor Hockey Association with the U18 Tier 1 Saanich Braves, winning three regular season championships and four playoff championships. Through Curtis’ coaching and leadership, he saw several of his players graduate to Junior Hockey in the VIJHL. Curtis’ philosophy in coaching is a direct, but open approach to get the best out of his players and exudes the values of Village Sports and Global Sport Academy that all hockey players should use their passion for the game to learn and adopt many important life skills that competitive sports instill.
Alongside Curtis, Colten Smith will be joining as a Coach in Moose Jaw. Colten grew up playing hockey in Brooks, Alberta and began his Junior hockey career playing in Sweden. After playing one season in Sweden, he continued to play Junior hockey in Eastern Canada for the Temiscaming Titans of the GMHL. Colten continued playing in the BCIHL with the Vancouver Island University prior to transitioning into coaching, running academy programs in Alberta as an on-ice skills coach, off-ice strength and conditioning coach and head coach of multiple programs at the U13 and U15 levels. Colten leads his coaching with a development first mindset and values instilling a hard work mentality in highly competitive, yet fun and enjoyable environments.
